A portion of the bamboo is cooked to change its color. The bamboo strips are
placed in an oven where they are subjected to steam pressure and heat. This
carbonizes the sugars in the bamboo to create the cinnamon and coffee colors
that make the ecostrong caramel flooring . Bamboo strips used in the ecostrong
natural shade flooring do not undergo this process.
