The first stage in the process of converting
round bamboo stalks into flat flooring is splitting.
The stalks are split into regular pie segments.
Only the bottom 3m of a bamboo can be used
for flooring. The portion of the bamboo not used
for ecostrong flooring is used to make various
objects such as furniture, baskets, chopsticks,
filtering charcoal, and
other items. None of the
bamboo is wasted.
